BMW Toronto: The Numbers You Need to Know

If there is a popular high-end compact vehicle in Toronto (and the GTA overall), that is the 3-series. I would say it is like the Audi A4 in Montreal: the most popular among clients who like to drive powerful all-season compact machines. So, if you are looking for a BMW in Toronto, this is what you need to know first:

Top Selling BMW Models

The #1 selling BMW in Canada, as I mentioned before, is the 3-series. From around 20,000 - 30,000 vehicles sold in all Canada every year, the 3-series represents between the 30%-45% of the delivered units. The same way it is so prevalent in Toronto, it is even more popular in the Vancouver area.

#1 - BMW 3-Series

The 3-series has been declining in sales during the past few years (see the table below), although it remains as the top-selling BMW vehicle. You can see a full review from TheStraightPipes guys for the new 2019 edition.

The BMW 3-series, on average starts at 940CAD/month tax. inc. when leased for 36 months with 0 down payment for a 24,000 Km/year lease.

#2 - BMW X3

The most popular BMW SUV, the X3, is on track this year to get very close to the number of sales of the 3-series. The preference among Canadians to go after SUVs, how these perform in winter and the interior space preference has been definitely a key factor. See the Yearly Sales table below:

2013 2014 2015 2016 2017
  5,600 units    5,200 units    4,500 units    5,400 units    5,700 units

BMW Toronto: BMW X3

Regarding pricing, it is very close to the average price of a 3-series. The BMW X3 starts in Canada, for a 3 years lease, at about 940CAD/month tax. inc.

The rest of the line is very variable and ranking changes, depending the year. Usually, positions #3 to #5 are among:

And it is worth to mention that the all-new BMW X2 is selling pretty decently.

BMW Toronto: Lease Takeover Opportunities

Regarding contract takeovers: Since we launched the Lease Takeover Marketplace, the most popular "High-End Vehicle" brand is BMW. It is, in fact, also the #2 overall, only after Honda. Dealership Distribution

Around the GTA there are around 10 BMW dealerships. You can do an online search to come up with better selection criteria, but these all basically range between the 4.0/5 - 4.2/5 stars customer rating, so it makes not much difference. Still, always go after the specific reviews ;)
