Walter Chrysler started the Chrysler company in 1924 with three ex-Studebaker engineers - Owen Skelton, Carl Breer and Fred Zeder. The company's first car was the 1924 Chrysler Six. Soon Chrysler was considered one of the rising stars in the automotive industry in Detroit. In the 1930s, it kept building its reputation with the Imperial series. In the 1940s, it came up with the innovative hemispheric-head V-8 engine technology HEMI®. The 1955 Chrysler 300 can be considered one of the first muscle cars. In the 60s and 70s, Chrysler concentrated on smaller vehicles. Today the Chrysler brand is known for the 300 cars and Pacifica minivans.
