Tesla Model 3: Results after One Year and 42,000 km

The Model 3 is still breaking lots of records since it was released a year ago in the U.S. During 2018, Tesla sold 245,240 vehicles, including all of their models. It is more than the total combined of all years since the company foundation, back in 2003. Of the more than 245K, 145,846 were Tesla Model 3. It has just been the most significant success of the company so far (we will see what happens this summer with the pickup truck).

While the company financials 2018 Q4 closing seems pretty similar to the ones on 2017 Q4, there is definitely a positive way ahead for Tesla. Well done guys!

Selling like Crazy

During 2018, the Model 3 sold more than:

  • Ford Focus
  • Hyundai Sonata
  • Kia Soul
  • Volkswagen Jetta
  • Toyota Prius
  • Mazda Mazda 3
  • Chevrolet Impala
  • Volkswagen Golf

...just to mention a few. Now, from the luxury line of vehicles, it also outperformed:

  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class
  • Lexus ES
  • BMW 3-Series
  • BMW 5-series
  • Infiniti Q50
  • Audi A4
  • Acura TLX

as the #1 top-selling Luxury Vehicle and even the #1 top-selling Electric Vehicle.

What is Like to Have One?

Andy Syle did a fantastic review video about driving his Model 3 after one year & 26,000 miles (about 42,000km). That is a lot of driving for one single year! Which makes his experience a really valuable source of info if you are deciding to get into one.
