After the Atlas Success, new Mid-Size SUVs are Coming to Compete

Two years ago, Volkswagen made a smart move when releasing the VW Atlas. The model sales have filled in a high demand hole that was mostly occupied before by the Ford Explorer, the Honda Pilot, and Toyota's Highlander. The Subaru Ascent came in, also the Mazda CX-9 and now it is becoming the target of Korean manufacturers as well.

The 2020 Telluride & The 2020 Palisade

Both KIA and Hyundai are coming with brand new mid-size/full-size SUV this summer. KIA's one is here already, btw:

2020 Kia Telluride

Although I'll be test-driving it in the next couple of weeks to provide a more "in-depth" review. Main features, all the new standard KIA safety features:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keeping & Assist
  • Collision Warning
  • Autonomous Braking
  • Pedestrian Detection
  • Blindspot Monitoring
  • Rear Cross Traffic Detection
  • Rear Parking Sensors

So far, I'll leave the one from Alex on Autos:

2020 Hyundai Palisade

The Palisade is the other variant of the big Korean SUV for the North American market. Launched to the world in November 2018, it shows up very similar to a Telluride. Remember that Hyundai owns more than a third of KIA, so industrial secrets here are not that secret.

Hyundai is marketing that the following "exclusive" in-class features will be available with the new Palisade (you can read more on the Comming Soon page):

- Available Blind View Monitor
- Available Fully Digital Instrument Cluster
- Available 2nd- & 3rd-Row Power-folding Seats
- Available In-vehicle Intercom with Kid’s Quiet Zone
