Q: It’s been a month and I did not receive 3 proper inquiries/offers. Only one actual inquiry...
A: TBA
Q: Can you please remove my listing
A: TBA
Q: I want to cancel my listing, since there are no interested people with reasonable offers, I decided to keep the car. I remember having 30-day money back if the lease is not transferred, how does that work?
A: I boosted your listing to the featured plan at no cost and featured it on top. I believe that by boosting the visibility we could get you more attention. What happened with the guy who requested 500 cash? Did you reach out to him?
Q: I decided to keep the car, so I want to cancel the listing, also look into the 30-day money back option.
A: Sure Joao, no problem. I'll process the refund in a couple of seconds. Hope we can help you again in the future if you ever need us
Q: it appears the car picture showing up for my lease is incorrect. It's showing an Altima although my lease is a Nissan Maxima. Can this be corrected
A: Done! It is updated now : )
Q: My account has been activated. Now what next?
A: I see your listing was activated. There is someone interested in the Nissan. If you visit the listing page, you will see the email.
Q: Hopefully it'll work out fine
A: Good luck! Just make sure to reply to offers as soon as these land.
Q: The car has been returned to the dealer. I wanted to update the listing to close/cancel it but didn't succeed.
A: You’ll get replies in your email:
✉️ @[email protected]. The team will be back 🕒 Tomorrow
Q: I received an offer last night, just wondering what is the next step? Do I contact this person on my own, or is there a way through the site?
A: You’ll get replies in your email:
✉️ customer@hotmail.com. The team will be back 🕒 Tomorrow
Q: Just wondering if I will get notified if someone is interested in my vehicle. Since I paid for the listing, I haven't seen any further information
A: Hi @customer, yes, that is how it works.
Q: The only report I received was back on Aug 11th, when I initially signed up (but had not paid).
A: I will update your listing to the next plan at no cost. We need to get this done ASAP.
Q: Will I get some sort of notification when you update my listing?
A: Not from the system, but I just did it. Your listing is now featured and was bumped to the top of the listings.
Q: Hello, its been more than a week and i haven't received any leads to my post. May I know how can I increase visibility so many clients will inquire and hopefully land a deal?
A: I'm boosting up the visibility of your listing to the next plan to increase the visibility. We need to get this done!
Q: Please respond to my previous question regarding the 30 day money back guarantee. Thanks
A: Sorry for the delay. I saw you received a couple of leads. How did these go? I will boost your listing at no cost to the top plan at no cost to skyrocket the visibility of your listing. We'll get this done!
Q: I received 1 real lead but they opted to go new as the incremental monthly cost was negligible. The other guy didn't know how to contact me to ask questions without submitting an offer. He disappeared quickly.
A: Mmmm.... at least it is showing traction. Which is good. Your ad is fixed now. anyone browsing in the GTA will see it first
Q: Thanks. Let's see how it goes.
Q: Hi,I noticed that I filled out payments monthly instead bi weekly, but I changed it in the ad.Is there anything else I should do?
A: Hi @customer. Let me see. All seems good. Just make sure to contact everyone who send a question or an offer. Follow up with everybody.
Q: Yes I notified Everyone
Q: Hi Jorge, my listing has been up for a month now with no offers. Therefore, I want to enquire about the 30 day money back guarantee. I may decide the remove the listing. Thanks!
A: TBA
Q: I am trying to take my listing down but I can't seem to figure it out
A: TBA
Q: How do I delete my ad from leasecosts.ca as I have already found someone to take over my lease?
A: TBA
Q: How do I know that people Send me requested by my car a real
A: Hi @customer,
We have an anti-spam system in place, so most cases are real people.
I mean "most cases" because, as in any other real life scenario, there are shoppers, hagglers and people who may be just throwing some low ball offers.
Overall, this is a sample summary of the process, once you find a serious one:
- Day 1 - The buyer: You found someone! Someone saw your ad and wants to jump into your contract. He/she is interested in taking a look at the car, test-drive it and confirm the numbers in your papers. The most common case here is to set up a date for it, usually during weekends, when both your calendars have availability for getting this done.
- Day 6 - The meeting: You both meet. You wake up early that day, take the car for an interior/exterior wash with the idea of improving the "brand new" feel. Expect the buyer to be meticulous, test everything and check every single detail of the bumpers, paint, entertainment system and drive it around. At this point, if everything goes smooth, he will probably "confirm" later.
- Day 8-9 - The decision: "OK, I'll take it!". At this point, the buyer will ask you: "What's next?" Here is where you have to explain that they need to run a credit check over the phone with your dealership.
- Day 11 - Credit Approved: They receive a call that the manufacturer financing entity has approved the transaction based on the Credit Verification. At this point, an appointment is set between all parties involved. Usually, it takes a week to get it scheduled.
- Day 18 - The Transfer: This is the last day you will probably see the car (unless you live pretty close to the buyer). You'll bring it to the dealer, and you will take either an Uber or a taxi back home with a significant relief in your chest
Q: So should I call that people that contact me
A: Yes, call them ASAP
Q: What do I need to do to remove my listing. I've decided to just keep the car.
A: TBA
Q: Hello Jorge, I signed up less than 24h ago and I would like to cancel my listing. Is there a way to receive some sort of credit?
A: TBA
Q: I would like to know how to proceed with an offer once received
A: Hi @customer, you need to contact the buyer.
Now, after that, this is kind of the process:
1 - You get a few offers until you find a serious one
2 - You should meet the potential buyer so he/she can "see" the car.
3 - Let's say, all good, the want to go ahead. They need to call your dealership and do a credit check over the phone. It would be good if you could hand them over a copy of your contract (erase any private info)
4 - They are approved, you have to do schedule the final meeting and do the paperwork
5 - Take an Uber home.
Q: I need to get out of my lease with in a month. I bought the premium package and everything. Can you help me out with the listing
A: Hi there. We are working on it right now. Your listing is live since you listed it, but now we will do the complete assessment.
Done @customer, you should have received an email with the details.
Q: Hi Jorge, Thanks for the analysis. Do you have any recommendations?
A: Hi Ajay, I noticed you have already received a couple of offers. My suggestion: consider what all buyers are asking and try to find a mid point between your needs and what they are looking for.
Now, this is how the rest of the process goes:
1 - You get a few offers until you find a serious one
2 - You should meet the potential buyer so he/she can "see" the car.
3 - Let's say, all good, the want to go ahead. They need to call your dealership and do a credit check over the phone. It would be good if you could hand them over a copy of your contract (erase any private info)
4 - They are approved, you have to do schedule the final meeting and do the paperwork
5 - Take an Uber home.
Q: How can I delete this listing? I have already sold the car
A: TBA
Q: Hello, I decided to no transfer my lease. Could get my refund of the membership please? Thank you
A: Hi Juan, no problem. It is understandable. I will process it later today and will send you an email when it is done.
Q: If someone is interested in just buying it as a 'used car' cash, what is the process?
A: Hi Philippe, it would be:
1 - Call the dealer to confirm the remaining balance for the buyout.
2 - Get an agreement with the buyer to buy the car from you and then you pay the dealer.
Ideally, it should be all done in a couple of hours, first between the buyer and you and then both of you go to the dealership to finalize.
Q: we have someone interested and I was just wondering if there is a certain process we should follow and if there are any known scams that i should be looking out for?
A: Hi Steve, that's awesome. Well, ideally this is how the process works:
1 - You get a few offers until you find a serious one
2 - You should meet the potential buyer so he/she can "see" the car.
3 - Let's say, all good, the want to go ahead. They need to call your dealership and do a credit check over the phone. It would be good if you could hand them over a copy of your contract (erase any private info)
4 - They are approved, you have to do schedule the final meeting and do the paperwork
5 - Take an Uber home.
Now, to determine the commitment of the buyer, simply try to schedule a meeting, preferably after you have talked to him/her over the phone and they sound serious to you.
People need to see the car, otherwise, I would say it is not a serious buyer. Once they see it, just doing the credit check is a serious commitment as it is a credit hit on their end.
Most of the times, when someone does the credit check, it is a 90% close.
So try to communicate with buyers and negotiate first what they want to later figure out their commitment.
Q: Unfortunately, I was not able to find a person that could take over my lease. I only had 1 person that seemed to be pretty interested but they were not qualified to take it over. Could you please remove my add and refund my money back. Your service and site were great but they just didn’t work for me in the time I required.
A: Hi Steve,
I'm really sorry it didn't went though. We did our best :(
As I promised, I have just processed the refund. You should have received a separate email with the details.
Take care!
Q: Hi there. I need to get rid of my car ASAP, what can I do to get it moving fast?
A: Your listings seems pretty good.
I believe you should receive more offers in the upcoming days.
I would still suggest you to be as fast as possible with the buyers.
and to give you an idea, this is a sample "transfer schedule":
- Day 1 - The buyer: You found someone! Someone saw your ad and wants to jump into your contract. He/she is interested in taking a look at the car, test-drive it and confirm the numbers in your papers. The most common case here is to set up a date for it, usually during weekends, when both your calendars have availability for getting this done.

- Day 18 - The Transfer: This is the last day you will probably see the car (unless you live pretty close to the buyer). You'll bring it to the dealer, and you will take either an Uber or a taxi back home with a significant relief in your chest.
By increasing the cash incentive, it should be even faster, but it depends on what you can actually afford.
And works for you, at the same time.
Q: Hello please could you delete my listing since we sold the car. Thank you
A: Hey there. Sure! Consider it done! Buyers won't contact you anymore.
Q: Once there is an offer that is acceptable; what are the next steps that Leasecosts provides to complete the transaction.

Q: Hey, I’ve managed to get rid of my car with another means. How do I go about getting my money back as LeaseCosts didn’t do a thing for me in terms of selling the car.
A: Hi Tyler,
Sorry for the delay. We tried, but not that easy to get it sold in our marketplace.
As we promised, I have just processed your refund, so you should have received a separate email. Hope we can do more next time in case you need us!
Take care and stay safe!
Q: Hi there.
I was wondering, once a deal is agreed, what is the process?
A: Hi there, Saul. Just noticed my message didn't went through.
This article may give you a better idea of what the next steps are and what to do next: https://www.leasecosts.ca/en/articles/lease-takeover-transfer-next-payment
Q: Hi, I just would like to make sure if my payment went through or not. Thank you
A: Good morning Eric. No it didn't. You can try again here: https://www.leasecosts.ca/en/listing-activation/16194. I will be completing your report in the meantime.
Q: Please could you delete my listing since we sold the car. Thank you
A: Hey there. Sure! Consider it done! Buyers won't contact you anymore.

Q: You requested I ask for some of my downpayment back and it hasn't worked out still
I even reduced my offer to no cash incentive and i still have not been able to get someone to make a serious offer
any advice? I need to get my new car but I can't close the deal until i get rid of the lease. Also my ad isn't as visible anymore
A: Hi Shab. It is visible. Let me double check btw, you have lots of offers.
Have you contacted those people???
"Shivam", sorry for the confusion.
on the name :)
you have lots of offers since last week.
I suggest you start contacting them and dig on what they want.
Q:I literally contacted everyone. They don't respond
A: Did you called?
Q: or they are not serious. Yeah like i would text them. Its like they dont read
the description
A: I will push it up the ad again.
Q: Okay thanks
A: Done. I have also upgraded it to the next plan at no cost for you.
Q: I see the blocked out number. I don’t see what the offer is. If I activate and can’t see the offer. Do I pay to activate. Even if the offer is not good?
A: You can activate and if we don't get you a buyer in 1 month after the activation, the fee is fully refundable.
Q: I received a text saying there was an offer ? How does this work ? What happens now ? I never paid for this revive.
A: The ads reamin visible to potential buyers
"remain" so people can still make you offers.
Now, if you don't activate it, it will simply go offline.
It is an alternative we have for customers like you that do not want to activate since the very beginning and "may" be interested in doing it later.
Q: So how do I see the offer to decide ?
in your listing page at the very top
Q: Hey, so how does the transfer work? Do you take care of the whole process and fees?
A: Hi Philippe! We just take care of getting you the buyer. The process is completely up to you and him/her.
Here you can find a guide:
ust make sure your potential buyer sees the car ASAP and they got a credit check over the phone with the dealership.
How_to_Transfer_your_Lease.pdf
Q: So, the fees I paid were just to put up an ad on your website? I wish that was made much clearer from the start
I've found a buyer myself, so I essentially paid for nothing ...
A:
Hi Philippe,
Well, we got you a few offers + we did the Lease Takeover Analysis report + we paid for the CarFax which is $40 + I personally assisted you multiple times. Your ad was seen by more than 1,000 people if we include the period of six days the internal statistics were not working.
If you honestly believe you just paid for the ad on the website, just let me know: I will simply refund your payment as I don't want my customers to think our services are a scam.
Q:
I do appreciate everything that you've done, I just wrongly assumed that part of the services you offered was the actual process of transfering the lease.
I'm curious as to what the success rate is with the matching through your site. My experience is that all I got were low-ball offers
A:
Usually it depends on the quality of the deal, but on average 60% of people find a buyer with us because of the details and the report itself.
It is not so easy to understand the tangible value of a lease takeover and we put a lot of weight on that. It has helped us creating a credible user base of buyers. That said, there are also shoppers, low ballers and even spam submissions we try to avoid, but it is simply a real life scenario reproduced on a website.
Q: And what is the usual timeframe?
I understand the challenges :)
A: The timeframe varies. But on average it is about 2 - 3 serious offers in 3 weeks.
pretty good deals get hundreds of offers in a month.
but once the buyer is found, then a second process begins, which is the sale itself.
Q: How would you qualify my ad?
A: I think it is a 7/10 in terms of quality, but the location in Ottawa/Gatineau is not as massive as GTA or Greater Montreal or even Vancouver Metro.
Q: right
A: It is a high end vehicle but that works mostly for families.
Pretty good savings, but not something people in their 20's or even in their 50s+ are looking for
In general, I mean
Q: understood
A: So it makes it even harder. Still, more than 1000 views is pretty impressive, I never expected it to get that much, (because of the report itself) saving 13K on a car is awesome,
but for an MDX is harder.
A TLX, ILX or even an RDX I believe would have been way more attractive in that area.
Q: yea
A: Still, I don't want you to feel we didn't tried our best.
So, you got a buyer, do you know what the next steps are?
Q: No no, Its just, the reason I was looking around and found leasecosts is that I have no experience with the actual process of transfering the lease, and I would expect that to be included in the services you offer
He's coming to see the vehicle next week
not a done deal yet
A: OK, so here are my suggestions:
take a photo of the contract, remove your personal info and send it to the potential buyer
You need to know ASAP now if this will work or not.
Second, I would take the car to him/her also ASAP if it is not too far away.
When is the next payment?
Q: Should I contact the dealership?
A: Not yet, only when the new buyer says "Let's go ahead"
because they need to do a credit check over him
Q: Ok, but to get details around the cost/process of transfering the lease
A: In the case of Acura, I believe it is $595 +tax
I suggest you negotiate it with the buyer.
You are giving the Tires + 2,000 cash
Q: right
A: OR, then you give 2,000 - the transfer
you say the transfer fee is included in the 2K
; )
Either way, you are the one helping him/her save a lot.
You are in the need of doing the transfer, but you are bringing a good deal to the market. Otherwise, they would be going to the dealership, not to you.
Q: ok thanks Jorge
A: Hope it all works out. Good luck
Q: Hi. I want to ask the leaser for pictures and additional info on a particular lease. How can I do that? Lease: 2017 Ford Escape SE (ID: #15589) LeaseCosts Canada typically replies in a few minutes.
A: We are working on a message system, but so far it is by making an offer.
Q: I can't be expected to make an offer on a vehicle I can't see.Is there a way you can contact the seller to get them to upload some pics? I am def interested in taking over the lease and I am only 100 KMS away form them.
A: I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself properly. What I mean is that if you make an offer, let's say "plain" with what the seller is offering, you can then initiate a conversation.
Once he replies back, you can simply explain what info you need and the continue from there.
Q: Aaahhhh! That makes sense to me. Thanks for clarifying!
A: No prob. Good luck!
We will be setting up a messaging system soon, but this is a workaround :)
Q: Haha. Gotcha.
Q: This is re listing id 14215
Its been more than a month
I got one offer and that did not go anywhere
Can you please initiate a refund for me?
A: Hi Dinesh,
I see. Your listing got about 283 views on that time but only one offer. I could upgrade you to the next plan at no cost and increase the visibility. We need to help you getting this done and get a buyer!
What do you want to do?
Q: Yes please upgrade it. Thanks for the response
A: Sure! let's push it further up and make it work!
